REFUND POLICY: Part One
Non-tuition fees refund policy
-
The application fee is non-refundable.
-
Homestay Fees: If the applicant’s study permit has been refused, any homestay fees paid in advance will be refunded in full.
-
If the study permit has been approved, unless otherwise dictated by the length of the program (e.g., Summer Program, Elite English Teen, Academic Term Abroad), the minimum stay in our homestay program is three months (12 weeks). If paid in advance when applying, the fee for the initial three-month period is not refundable. (During this period students can change their homestay, where a legitimate issue arises.
-
If a study permit has been refused and Forest Heights School’s notarization service for custodianship has been provided, a $200 notarization fee is non-refundable, with the exception of the two Summer Programs, as specified in the refund policy below (Category D).
REFUND POLICY: Part Two
-
Category AAll applicants who are Canadian citizens, have Permit Residence status in Canada, or are present in the country on a Minister’s Permit, are entitled to a full refund of tuition fees (less any applicable administrative fee(s)) provided the following conditions are met: That the School is in receipt of tuition paid by, or on behalf of that applicant for the purpose of subsequently attending credit courses at the School, and; That the applicant provides the School a minimum two week’s written notification (via facsimile or otherwise) prior to the date he/she was scheduled to commence, resume or continue his/her studies at the School. (The date for the purpose of notification is that upon which the School receives the notification). If the applicant wishes to postpone the date on which he/she will commence, resume or continue his/her studies, and complies with the conditions in 1 & 2 above, he/she can do so without financial penalty. All tuition paid will be applied to credit courses taken by that applicant in subsequent terms. A failure to notify the School of a postponement or decision not to attend within the specified timelines will result in the loss of tuition applicable for that term. The balance of the tuition paid, however, may be applied to future study or refund.
-
Category BAll applicants who are by law required to obtain a Study Permit to attend a secondary school in Canada, are entitled to a full refund (less any applicable administrative fee(s)) provided the following conditions are met: The Applicant’s application to obtain a Study Permit has been rejected by a Canadian Embassy or Consulate; and, The Applicant provides the School with the letter issued by the Canadian Embassy or Consulate stating that the Applicant’s application has been rejected; That the School is in receipt of tuition paid by, or on behalf of that Applicant for the purpose of attending courses at the School. If the applicant wishes to postpone the date on which he/she will commence, resume or continue his/her studies, and provides two weeks written notice in advance of the start data in question, they may do so without penalty. Tuition will be applied to courses taken by that applicant in a subsequent term(s). A failure to notify the School of a postponement or decision not to attend within the specified timelines will result in the loss of tuition applicable for that term. The balance of the tuition paid, however, may be applied to future study but is non-refundable.
-
Category CAll applicants to programs which do not require the student to make a Canadian study permit application (i.e., “online programs”). Students in this category who notify Forest Heights School (in writing) of their withdrawal from the program no later than two weeks (14 days) before the start of the classes may receive a refund of 75% of tuition fees paid for that and all subsequent terms (less any applicable administrative fees); There will be no refund for any cancellation / withdrawal after the two-week limit.
-
